Why Tillery Compassionate Care Feels Different

Working in hospice is one of the most meaningful callings I can imagine. As the Bereavement Coordinator at Tillery Compassionate Care, I have the privilege of staying connected with our families after their loved one has passed — through phone calls, handwritten notes, and sometimes even personal visits.
In those conversations, I often hear such genuine love and gratitude for our team. Families don’t just say, “the nurse was wonderful” — they say his or her name. They tell stories of how our nurses and social workers went above and beyond: sitting at a bedside to hold a hand, explaining difficult things with patience and gentleness, or finding ways to bring peace and comfort during the hardest moments.
What stands out most is how seen and cared for families feel. At Tillery, our care doesn’t stop with the patient — it extends to everyone who loves them. We understand that grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and that compassion and understanding make all the difference.
Every time a family shares a story or a thank-you, it reaffirms why we do what we do. Hospice care is not just about the end of life — it’s about honoring life, love, and connection.
At Tillery Compassionate Care, we don’t just serve families; we walk alongside them. And that’s what makes us different.
