Full Time Float RN

We are hiring a full-time RN Float Position.
Schedule: Full-time M-F, 11 am-7 pm.
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our hospice team in a full-time float position. This individual assuming this role must be flexible, skilled, and ready to adapt to various nursing needs across the organization to ensure highly consistent, quality patient care and support. This position will also involve on-call, back-up, and holiday coverage as part of the team rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient visits, including hospice admissions, in private homes, skilled nursing centers, and assisted living communities
- Triage and assess patient needs using sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Prioritize and schedule visits based on urgency and patient needs
- Provide symptom management guidance and self-care interventions
- Deliver compassionate and clear communication while actively listening and knowing when to gather more information—or when to simply provide reassurance
- Identify and coordinate appropriate resources to support patients and caregivers
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted RN license through the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON)
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience preferred, including emergency services nursing
- Hospice or home care experiences are strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel within the service area
